Hmmmmm ..... So is the ETD being overly influenced by the hammer shock, or what? Seems like a half second into the sustain, such as it is, the pitch should read the same as when plucked. Or is that first hammer-whack throwing it out a little? This needs some thought ... I confess I rely a lot on "plucking" everything above C7, or so. (Who needs that danged last octave, anyway? :-) Alan Barnard Salem, MO ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joseph Garrett" <joegarrett@earthlink.net> To: <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Thursday, January 09, 2003 8:22 PM Subject: tuning the treble aurally > Be aware that plucking a high treble string will register "On", on an ETD, > but will register flat when struck with the hammer. > Joe Garrett, RPT, (Oregon) > > Been There, Didn't Like It, So I'm Here To Stay!
