I use a 5/8" blade and soft blocks. I tweaked it carefully when I bought it 10 years ago, and it's cut hard maple like butter ever since. I also slack the blade the instant I finish a job, and I brush off the wheels so the tires stay good. I'm sure Joe uses his more than I use mine, but I don't see how mine could be much better. I did have a helluva time cleaning the blade after I cut pitch pine once. Susan
