Aural tuning with a head cold

Thump, no arguing that Echinacea can help. It is also hard for the
kidneys to filter, and when people go overboard, they do more harm than
good. Already having no kidney function, I don't use it at all
(although I suppose it wouldn't matter!) :)

Echinacea doesn't kill bacteria, so if you really want a good wash for
your nasal passage, I would look into grapefruit seed extract. This can
be had from many places, in many forms. My recommendation is simply to
get a bottle of it, and make your own mixtures for different things.
This stuff will kill just about everything, and has been tested fairly
thoroughly (unlike the 3 G's I mentioned earlier).

Anyway, I just thought of that when you mentioned flushing your nasal
passage. Flushing with water and a few drops of grapefruit seed extract
before or after a cold has started, will do amazing things.

When you get Rhinovirus, your body is creating the signs and symptoms
you're feeling in it's effort to fight the infection taking place in
your nasal passage. So flushing up there is a very good way to combat
it, assuming you flush with the right thing. :)

I know it's off topic, but not really, as it has to do with all of us
tuners, and our health.

Because of a suppressed immune system, I won't even tune in houses
containing sick people. *grin*

Howdy Jonathan,
I had a raging respiratory infection last year
(coughing up blood, etc.) after inhaling crap from a
particularly filthy piano. It lasted 3 months. It
cleared up in 4 days after starting the lozenges.
An elderly friend of mine (father of one very
famous actress) had a similar infection. Similarly
cleared up after I recommended these.
I now carry mouthwash, toothbrush, paste & floss
in my car. If I enter a very filthy house or piano, I
will use these immediately upon exit to provide less
initial breeding ground for any pathogens picked up,
which then take root in nasal passages. I will also
flush my nasal passages with salt water ASAP.
I get significantly less infections after
satrting this procedure.
( Also useful if one gets stuck in line at the
grocery behind stinky rockstars.)
