Hi, Philip; This is how I do it, if nothing else works: Remove 2 or 3 of the pins closest to the broken pin, and drill holes right through the block (6 or 6,5 mm on normal tuning pin sizes). From the back-side of the piano (upright), mark the spot where the broken pin`s hole should end up. Then bore from the back-side until you reach the end of the broken pin (I use hammer shanks as guides in the other holes to get the right bore-angle). Now you will be able to drive the broken pin through the block (from the front-side)... I`ve done it several times, not that difficult!
