Cut the glue/finish line where the guide touches the case. 2. Drop or brush acetic acid or white vinegar along the line. 3. Wait 5 minutes, repeat step #2. 4. Wait 5 minutes, place a block of wood on the guide and tap = the end of the block gently with a hammer as you move it = along the guide. This should loosen it enough so you can wiggle it out = cleanly. ...and, as he indicated, it may not always, just leave them in there. = Trim them off flush with the surface and make proper glides out of brass = bar stock. The only tricky part is drilling and countersinking the five = equally spaced screw holes, but with a little practice it gets easier. = You end up with an attractive music desk glide that is easily removable.
