I have an Everett upright, 100 years old. It is a superb piano with a veneered solid ash case, laminated and VARNISHED keybed (stable & easy to clean!) and little metal tabs on the back of the pedals which cover the hole when the pedal is up to KEEP MICE OUT! (Should be the law!!!) Could be wonderful restored!!! Please see posts on filing upper plate bridge to a possibly narrower (1.5mm) width to improve sustain. Thump P.S. I have found that pianos with a "solid" ( as in ash, oak, etc.. ) framework have an "authoritative" tone, even in junk condition. P.P.S. I could use a bench for this. Mahogany, fluted columns with capitals for legs. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Shopping - Send Flowers for Valentine's Day http://shopping.yahoo.com
