Hi Mike, It's not a new idea, but nothing like this is available commercially (as far as I know), and I want to try it out. I'm re-sawing, but Delignit is available in different panel thicknesses and densities from the manufacturers - if it ever came to that. >.250 seems a little small for 2/0 pins - are you using 1/0? Or are you >shooting for very high initial torque so that it will relax to a tunable >torque after time? 0.250 is what we always used for 2/0 pins in the rotary cut maple (before I started using Delignit) The initial torque is high, but they settle in pretty quickly - compared to the denser blocks. I drilled some test holes at 0.258, and there isn't a substantial difference in feel between the two with the 6mm and 9mm Delignit laminations. For a standard Delignit block, I use 6.8mm or 17/64".
