Hi Mike,
It's not a new idea, but nothing like this is available commercially (as 
far as I know), and I want to try it out. I'm re-sawing, but Delignit is 
available in different panel thicknesses and densities from the 
manufacturers - if it ever came to that.

0.250 is what we always used for 2/0 pins in the rotary cut maple (before I 
started using Delignit) The initial torque is high, but they settle in 
pretty quickly - compared to the denser blocks. I drilled some test holes 
at 0.258, and there isn't a substantial difference in feel between the two 
with the 6mm and 9mm Delignit laminations. For a standard Delignit block, I 
use 6.8mm or 17/64".
