i think piano manufacturers are concerned over proper installment and dependability plus proper use of DC systems and do not want to be responsible for occurences of damage. i think the dampp-chaser company does a thorough job providing proper installation instructions and information and if followed give the piano and the tuner a better result and therefore a good reputation. if you tune a piano one day at 65% humidity and the humidity drops to 40% a week later all the customer knows is that your tunings do not last very long. i advocated for manufactures to install even better systems right at the factory using the kind of wiring in rear window defrosters of cars right on the soundboard from underneath. putting water in should be dead center under the board also. in verticals as low to the bottom as possible. humidity measurement should be in the center of the board. armond
