Well, I'm not sure I can agree with that last line, Bill.

If "Jack Flange's" work is truly horrible, you've just lied to a customer.
Sorry, but I won't go there either. I may recommend "Wippen Flange's" work
as being top notch amoung area technicians, or note that "Jack Spring's"
work is admired by those in the trade, but I won't lie and tell someone that
"Jack Flange" does good work if he does not. If "Jack Flange" is a good
tuner but does awful repairs, tell the customer he's a good tuner and leave
it at that. Go ahead and tell them that you can't speak for "Jack Flange's"
repair skills if you must. You don't need to sling mud. But you don't need
to tell a lie either. Suppose that customer hires "Jack Flange" because I
have a good reputation and I've just told him that "Jack Flange" does good
work. PERIOD."? I'd be an accessory to what would feel like a crime and I
would wonder about that causing me to be just as liable as "Jack Flange"
because in a round about way, I've recommended him!

God forbid, don't lie to customers like that. They're confused enough
without having us lie to them.

Just an opinion. I'll crawl back under my rock now.

Best wishes,

Brian T.
