Remember..when I put a spring on the damper tray, I gained the 4 mil I was
looking for, but then came the problem with the 60+ capstans, and I didn't
have the time to do that today.

Is that the only option you can see, from my description(add a spring and
regulate from there)? The only problem I see with this is that if I do
that(dealer would have to approve the work..they just moved it here from
Minnesota), there is STILL the possibility that the 'clunk' will be there,
because I do believe it is bottoming out in the pedal lyre.

Obviously what I think I need is to gain the 4 mil when the pedal is at
rest, and I get that by adding the spring....but...

I honestly was hoping to hear from someone with Boston experience(Mr.
Farrell) and/or PianoDisc..Heard from Dave Bunch(Hi pal!) whose PianoDisc
experience is vast, but this might be a combination PD/Boston design
issue..I'm not really sure. I do know that I am:

losing more hair,
