Dowel Source?

Philip,
I think your best bet is to turn your own from 1/4" dowels - or have 
someone do it for you.  It sounds like an oddball size for any lumber 
store to carry.  I just checked Woodworker's Supply, which jumps from 
1/4" to 3/8" in the hardwoods, but carries a 3/16" Ramin dowel (36" 
long) for $0.29.
