Pursuant to the recent discussion of Steinway 'M' denoting Miniature, on eBay there is a 1910 magazine advertisement from Steinway, advertising their new "Steinway Miniature Grand. The Smallest Grand That's Safe to Buy". The ad states, "The exact size of this Grand - 5 feet 10 inches - has been determined through scientific research. In an ebonized case, $800." Another recent thread discussed Steinway's belief that their instruments are such a great investment; I dare say that the $800 in 1910 could have earned alot more money elsewhere than in that piano. Present bid for the magazine ad on eBay is $4.99. (item 2504598834) Tom S
