---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Hiya: Just a thought. My experience and others has been that kinks cause amplitude pulses which may be mistaken for false (real) beating. False (real) beating is caused by induced variation in length, mass, or tension in a single string (e.g. a loose bridge pin, or a double termination at the bridge or capo as the result of several types of material deterioration). As the string stretches, these amplitude pulses may diminish, but real (false) beats may arise from faulty terminations during the process and should be corrected accordingly.
