Hi Dave, 

40 grams down is far too low.  C4 at 60/45 has a balance weight of 52
grams (far far too high), friction is 7 grams (a hair lower than I
like).

So, 40 grams down with 7 grams friction has a balance weight of 33 g.
and 26 g. up weight.  Too low!

(40 - X)/2 =7   40-X=14
-X=14-40 so X=26

With 7 g. friction, a target balance weight of 40 g. the down weight and
up weight should be 47/33.  So, a small weight out front or a larger one
toward the balance point should bring you up to standard without getting
over inertia-ed. :)
