Hi Norman, Verituner base modification. Remove base at the aluminum hinge and cut the width to 3 3/8". re notch the base to accept the hinge and drill holes for screws. Then cut off the steel rod to 3 1/2" and reassemnle and try the fit to see if you need to do the next step. If the rod is sticking up too far when in the down position, drill the hole for the pivot adjusting holder thingee 2 1/2" in from the bottom and up 1/2" from the bottom of the case as it lies flat. (I do not remember the size drill that I used but keep the fit tight as you want to press the brass holder back into the plastic case.) This will alow the rod to be out of the way when the stand is not deployed. I have had no problems with the VT wanting to do a nose dive since making these modifications and the new ones come this way now.
