Friends, For those who regard pepper as a rodent deterrent, does it really matter which kind? The red pepper I found inside two pianos was so coarse, intact seeds, etc. that I think it looks really tacky (of course the piano tech will be the only person that sees it, but still...). Could one use finely ground hot pepper of *any* variety, just sprinkle a thin almost imperceptable layer, and still have the desired effect? Or would that be too risky for other reasons?
