4 different tuning pin size on very old Steinways US) as I've seen on
one 1850 mod D.

With the 4 remaining 3/4 tuning pin boxes you could sell 3/4 stringing
jobs (a bit cheaper that the complete job).

I usually pay the customers to allow me to put my dirty hands on their
pianos.

Sometime they insist to pay me too so I accept , so no offense.
