Back in 1975 in Minot, North Dakota, were talking the sticks folks, having just completed a year at Western Iowa Tech, I was charging $20/tuning.  I think, Alan, you might do some checking with what other skill professionals (plumbers, electricians) are requiring to come to the home and do service.  Some time take a look at the amount of time involved with each customer:  initial phone call, travel time, service time etc. and calculate your actual per hour fees...

To be worth more than your competitors you have to have something they don't have...are you an RPT?  Have you had training in factories, Yamaha's Little Red School House etc.?  If so you need to promote this training.  Give a level of service beyond your low price competitors and quick worrying about losing some customers because your more expensive...
