muting strings

I use the SAT III.  I use two mutes, pitch raise from bottom up tuning unisons as I go.   A "fine" tuning usually begins at the 1st tenor strings tuning upward, unisons as I go.  Finish by going down into the bass.  If I was using a fork I'd probably go back to temp strips but any significant change in pitch wrecks havoc on your tuning...
