How's this for an easy solution to the scraping drop
screws ?: 1)Mark one distict pinblock gouge with a
pen, and note it's position in the scale. 2)Pull the
action and make a scale stick of the drop screws. 
3)Flip the piano over and put the scale stick on the
pinblock, lining up your indexing mark with the
appropriate drop screw mark. 4)Mark the position of
all the other drop screws on the underside of the
block, and extend the marks into lines with a
carpenter's square.  5)File/rasp grooves in the
underside of the pinblock for the drop screw tops to
travel in.

I wonder if a router would fit in there ? Still the same issue with the
bottom of the tuning pins though.
