Hi Del, Yes, I have heard that statement and always wonder at the affrontery of buring non renueable resources, when we could have the wind for the cost of building the turbines. Cost for a full size unit is now about $600,000.00 US. or $0.06 cents a kilowatt. They compare that to coal fired about 1/3 the price per watt--but I dont' believe they factor in the price of the fuel, just the initial cost of the units.
