wire problems?

I have on a old Kawai. It was being played hard so my take on it was fast
repeat playing that when the wire was peaked out the next play was
administered and doing this enough time the string failed. I have wondered
if a lot of fast playing may even creat a little heat friction. That may be
a dumb statement. Oh well.
