Grain orientation is what makes pinblocks work not humidity...........if a
pinblock is drilled for a certain humidity range then it will not work as
well, or at least the same, in much drier or much wetter
conditions................

Think about it for a second...if a small board is soaked in water until it
has absorbed as much moisture as it can hold.......it will swell in all
dimensions right? If the board is then drilled with a 3/8ths hole through
it..... then it is dried down as much as possible the dimensions of the
entire board will diminish....what happens to that 3/8 ths hole?
Is it the only part of the board which will get larger?????
