Joining the guild, belonging to a usenet group, reading many books, apprenticing and/or simply tuning many, many, many pianos all will help you reach a higher level in piano tuning/repair. I don't think there is one solution like "joining the guild" to help all problems in this field, but it is certainly one of many options that can help sharpen your tuning/repair skills. Jay
