Theres only one fraction (say 1/3, 1/2) of the speaking length which can comfortably fit between the back bridge pins and the hitch, and consequently only one proper interval. I'm tuning by length not by pitch. There are too many unknown aspects of the bridge as a friction barrier to the strings, to be able to count on anything but an approximate tuning. This is the inverse of the bridges effectiveness as a coupler. I'm also definitely trying my first one on a piano with individual aliquots. I'd monitor the curve of your aliquot bar (make a current photocopy of it), to guard against the possibility that the bar wasn't getting twisted/warped laterally during the stringing and chipping. The final aliquot placement should be right before the first at-pitch ship. Or at least, that's how I'd do it, if I wuz doing it. And I'm hoping for back lengths as long as possible. Let's meet back here when someone's actually done something. Bill Ballard RPT NH Chapter, P.T.G. "Can you check out this middle C?. It "whangs' - (or twangs?)
