Terry,

I suggest you get a Palm or Handspring device.  Get a cheap one...$200...I think.  It has its own PIM software which syncs with the Palm.  I use Time & Chaos to sync with my Palm, which you can download free to try out.  Go to www.isbister.com

I use mine everyday.  I like it well enough.  It, of course has an alarm system that turns the Palm on when if goes off.  PDAs turn off to conserve power.
