How to use an apostrophe

It is posts like this that make me think I should unsubscribe to this list.
I've been subscribing now for about 6 months and am surprised at how much
irrelevant material I find.  There are a few gems from time to time but way
too much useless chatter.

Am I just an old curmudgeon?  Of course, I do realize I just added to the
number of useless posts.
