removing sharps

I use my large wood faced carpenters vise that's attached to the end of 
my bench. Open the jaws just enough for the sharp to slide into 
snugly... (key is upside down), tap the keystick with a small mallet or 
hammer.

The sharp will almost always come right off. Sometimes a little wood is 
lost but that is rare. I put a small cardboard box in the floor under 
the vise to collect the sharps as the fall through the vise
