Someone suggested using MDF instead of plywood for acoustic reasons. I just put a piece of MDF atop my new 5' x 8'+ very-flat soundboard table. I cut the top out of a 5' x 10' piece of MDF. At many smaller lumber yards, they will have to order it for you.
