>c - a potential for losing legs and/or the bench I notice on old "golden age" long grands that they have a little place underneath toward the tail to store the leg wedges and lyre props when the piano is on its side. The same sort of piano often attached the lyre with tapered pegs, which were hung on straps so that they didn't get lost when removed (well, until the straps broke ...) Perhaps, along with putting runners on the straight side, a piece of furniture could be built with (labeled) places for the bench, legs, lyre, lyre props, and fasteners? Then they would all be together and easy to find when setting the piano up again. It might also prevent trading the lyre and leg screws. Susan
