Carl, "Pre-twisting" the core wire is #1 not possible and #2 would not work, unless the core wire were twisted in REVERSE of the direction of the winding, so that when relaxed it would attempt to "unwind" and therefore "twist" the winding in the proper direction. Either way, I don't see any way possible for "pre-twisting" the core, knowing how a string is made on a lathe type apparatus. Regards, Joe Garrett, RPT, (Oregon)
