Phil: I stopped using a glue pot awhile ago. I just bought a box of small mason jars and a $7.99 coffee cup warmer. I cut a hole in the lid of the mason jar for a stick or brush and to keep the heat in a little and just set it directly on the warmer. It keeps the glue at the right temperature, doesn't burn or boil it. Some people use a double boiler type set up, I've not found it necessary. When the jar gets too crusty, I just throw it out and start over. Otherwise, you can pour some hot water into the glue pot, let it soak for awhile and the glue will dissolve. Pour it out and wipe it out and it will be fine.
