Dear Clyde;
The editor has taken notice of your statement and feels that some
clarification is in order.
While "twit" and "thingamabob" are indeed in the 'common' dictionary they
are intended for more or less specific usage(s) and as such lend themselves
to a definatory status.

"Thingee" on the other hand is a 'universal' and has meaning only in a
contextual state. As, what is commonly termed, a 'free floater' "thingee" is
applicable to any state be it animal, mineral or vegetable..... be it
animated, inanimate, mechanical or electrical.

"Thingee" is such a universal that it may be used in the contexts of art,
science, politics, religion and yes..... even love.................From the
best of our in-depth-lexocographical research and usage surveys there is no
'wrong' way to use "thingee" 'except' for the negative
cases/tenses/usages............. Being a lighthearted, yet serious,
affirmation of the communicatory skills of the apparent user(s) "thingee" is
a serious addition to the lexocographical pallete of, and for, commincation
of import and also lighthearted repartee.

There is some thought that "thingee" is a derivation of "thang" from the
Gullah, or Gechee, as spoken in the lowlands, and coastal areas, of South
Carolina. However there are no 'definable' and absolute evidentiary
expository examples existing extant..... even emergent eloquent examples
elude encystment of "thingee".

As such "thingee" is a perfect example of estivation. Therefore, as of this
point in time, there is no firm definition of "thingee". As it is a
universal, and in the public domain, usage of this valuable additive should
be free to individual interpretation. Only the common courtesy of positive
usage will guide the writer as improper usage may lead to failed
communication.

I do hope this little note has cleared up the matter.
As always we remain at your service for thingees of this nature.
