May i assume that they are probably sitting WAY down into the wedges? i.e. not really wedges, but rather, straight sided felt inserts... ;-} If you loosen and raise the upstop rail, there should then be enough clearance to lift damper and flip damper head upside down [ ^ to v ]. You can then trim excess felt, flip back over and check fit. With them upside down, they also can be screwed in and out of blocks for adjustments. W/O flipping them, the damper felt tends to drag on neighboring heads. Good luck, and see you Saturday.
