Getting the action parts

Claudia, this is good advice. Moisture will weaken or
destroy glue joints; warp wood; ruin felt and cloth;
cause felt and cloth to come off, and, yes, hurt
center pin bushings.

People sometimes "blast" dirty action parts with
pecan shells or glass beads in a booth, but even
this often has its drawbacks.

Any staining that you can't brush off with something
soft-bristled I feel you should probably just leave on.

What sort of rebuilding are you contemplating?
