I printed out the whole series (20 articles!) and am trying to work my way through it all.  What an impressive piece of  work!  For anyone new to the re-scaling process, this seems like a very thorough primer on how to evaluate and modify a scale.  You'll want to skip the parts about programming a TI-59 calculator, though.
