all, I don't recommend using Sand, but rather beads, (ie glass beads), which was recommended by Bill Spurlock, with his article in the PTJ, if you choose to use this system. Walnut shells, I've been told, also does a nice job. I personally don't like what it does to the wood and the darned beads get into everything and then drop all over the shop/bench and what ever else. Although it seems to make the parts look nice, it reminds me of LA. All show and no substance. <G> Joe Garrett, RPT, (Oregon)
