Yes, it is a big issue and you are yet another person who wants and needs to 
be able to make and hear side by side comparisons.  What better forum than 
the PTG Convention?  Forget it.  They don't want you to hear this because if 
you do, you might like what you hear and then things might start to change, 
people might write more articles, artists might start asking for it, etc.  

For the sake of convenience and economy, the music industry is sticking to 
its one size fits all product and will vigorously defeat any attempt to 
change that.  My prediction is that you will not get this opportunity from 
PTG anytime within the next 5 years.  You'll have to explore it yourself and 
at your own risk.  This is one opinion I have which I would be happy to have 
proved wrong.
