Hi David,

I would know it was not at A442. 

I believe that many of the musicians I have had the pleasure to work with
can hear the difference.

It is certainly my experience that dropping pitch is more difficult and
less stable that raising it. The process of stability can the hurried along
by pressing on the tail lengths after the first "pitch lowering" tuning. I
would over shoot on the pitch lowering by about 2 cents (A439.5) press the
tail lengths and tuning again. I would charge additional fees to cover the
time for this proceedure. 

Remember either the client pays or you pay. I have not figured out yet how
to pay myself.
