Newton Hunt's workmanship

Hi Leslie. If you don't have, get Newton Hunt's little pocket fee estimator - I believe available from PTG, and get Joe Garrett's "G Piano Works, Repair Labor Guide". These documents will give you good guidance for the number of hours required for an experienced tech to do various tasks. Just multiply by your hourly fee and you have job estimates. Yes, I also agree Newton seems to be on the low side - but maybe experience makes one that much faster!
