Hazen, another added safety factor that I have seen is to put 6-8" strips of wood strategically placed in the holes that will secure the plate. These strips of wood rise up above the rim so the plate is 'in place' before it is lowered into place. It's a couple of minutes worth of work for the added protection of the finish. Honestly, I have not done this yet, but have seen it done a number of times...i'm still a rook with this rebuilding stuff. Phil
