The daily registration fee might be something that could be considered,
(although I think it would crate more problems than it's worth). But I still
cannot understand how you can justify allowing someone who accompanies a PTG
member to register for half price, whether it for a one day pass or full
registration. Do you really want one PTG member to register 2 , 3, 4 or more
"other people" at half price. How is that fair?

As I said in my earlier post, I might see that as equitable if the family
member was either a spouse, (in which case it would only be one person), or a
child (or several children), living at home. But what criteria is going to be
used as the "accompanying person? Would I be allowed to bring my shop help,
or my refinisher? Or does it have to be a "family member?" What if my
"family member" is my uncle, or brother in law, or niece? Can it be a friend,
or fellow chapter member? I know, lets have one person from a chapter
register at full price, and then everyone else in the chapter, who is
accompanying the chapter member, can get in for half price. Hell, why not
have everyone register at half price. The money a seminar (or convention)
looses from one person''s half price registration isn't going to be missed.

Again, Carol, if you want expose your daughter to what PTG members do, have
her attend a chapter meeting. With you living the DC area, she could go to
three chapter meetings a month. If you want her husband to get an idea of
what you do, why don't sit the baby while both of them go to chapter meeting.
But I just don't think it is fair to allow them to register for a seminar, or
convention, at half price, just to get "a taste" of what a piano tuner does.
And certainly not if this policy would increase everyone's registration fee.

What you're trying to do is get three people to go to the movies for the
price of one a half admission, promising you're going to switch off watching
the movie, so that none of you are in the theater at the same time. It just
ain't going to happen.
