I don't think Dave's on the list, but my experience is that one selects 
the amount of overpull one wishes (3 default settings: 10% for bass, 20% 
for tenor/treble, 30% for high treble), and the VT calculates the target 
for each note played, based on the % selected, and an actual measure of 
the note's deviation (eg flatness). The user can customize the overpull 
settings if they wish.
