Muting high treble

I have found that my muting felt does not add enough tension to the strings
to PHYSICALLY change the pitch, but will indeed change the pitch a tad sharp
when muting trichord unisons. I know there's an explanation for this but
let someone else explain. Many pianos don't allow my muting strip to make a
difference - there's too much bleedthrough. That's when I use the black
rubber. Someday it will be nice not to have to use any muting strips.
