Safe Travel

I flew out of the country (South Africa) recently at Joburg International
the signs are very clear there that for cabin baggage (carry on) ANY sharp
objects and knifes WILL be confiscated and NOT returned - a piano tuning kit
can basicly be said to fit that, so no more kit.

But, if your kit is in the baggage hold that is ok.

Just curious to know what habits any of you have for transporting tools etc.
through the airlines while traveling. Do you put all your tools in checked
baggage? Does that include ETD's? Do you take the ETD as a carry on? Do
you take any of your tools as carry on? What is the best way to make sure
ALL of your equipment gets the same place you are, safely?

Thanks for the input.
