I'm not a university tech, but have helped a colleague with the tunings for a few years when they get all new pianos at the beginning of a semester. They're difficult to tune, are going to go flat right away, need touch-up regulating, breaking-in, voicing, and will require several tunings during the school year rather than just one or two. A local university here has discontinued the program, I believe, as it wasn't worth the hassle. David Nereson, RPT, Denver
