CA gluing Grand pinblocks

I don't think there is anything published regarding CA/pinblocks. Was there an article in the Journal recently? I think you'll find most info in the archives of this list. Don't have too much fear of trying this. It is somewhat of a foolproof procedure. First of all, the piano was already broke if you are getting out the CA. Second, it is often an old horrible piano anyway (not that we don't ALWAYS do our best, but just to say that there is a measure of ease often with these pianos). And last, assuming you can avoid gluing the action, the worst thing that can happen is that you make a bit of a mess (but that is really quite controllable).

Just don't glue the action! THAT would be BAD!

Also, I always discuss with the client my observation that CA works reasonably well perhaps 80% of the time. SOMETIMES the results are not adequate and another procedure will be required. If treating an entire pinblock, sometimes you may have a few of the most loose pins that will additionally require a shim or somesuch. (CYA.)
