The word "always" is the problem here. Under soft, slow play, an increase in DW (if caused by less lead), may give a heavier touch, however, under heavy or rapid play, that increased "heaviness" may exhibit less inertial resistance. If the "lightness" is caused by lighter hammers, the reverse may be true, due to the light hammer mass causing the various frictions and springs to change the feel at let-off, (ie, the hammer mass is so slight that controlling its escapement becomes difficult). Too many variables in what seems like a simple question to have a definitive answer. REgards, Ed Foote
