At the 1996 Sydney International Piano Competition both Kawai and Steinway were of course represented along with the big Y. Anyhow, one of the arrogant young factory technicians was making much of an opposition piano's poster in which the hapless concert instrument was shown in reverse - he was quite insulting about the image. However, when we looked at the poster from his factory's promotional material, the grand piano shown had its long lid prop in the short stick socket. Poetic justice wouldn't you say? Fortunately, we managed to resist the temptation to fall about the floor laughing in like manner.
