There's probably lots of Baldwins out there with Ferrante and Teicher's clever two piano caricature beside their names. They were fond of signing pianos out in the field after their concerts provided the piano owner was amenable. I had the pleasure of hosting these gentlemen in the factory years ago. Both had the trademark identical hairstyle and mustache (aided by then with a lot of hair dye). Delightful guys with a broad sense of humor and surprisingly good piano technique. Teicher would spin off parallel thirds on each piano with amazing ease. The day they visited us they must have signed close to 60 grand pianos. Just helping Baldwin with a sales gimmick. These pianos were not exceptional, just standard off-the-line issue. So I guess the short answer to any question about added value on these signature pianos is ... what's an autograph worth these days?
